A completed criminal record extract for private customers is always available in the LRC e-service

Legal Register Centre

A private customer’s criminal record extract can be downloaded from the LRC e-service as soon as it has been completed. The completed extract will no longer be available in Suomi.fi Messages.

There have been minor changes to the delivery methods for criminal record extracts for private customers. As before, a completed criminal record extract is always available in the LRC e-service immediately after it has been issued. If you have selected postal delivery, you will still receive the extract by letter as well. Previously, the completed extract was also delivered to the applicant through Suomi.fi Messages, but going forward the extract will no longer be delivered there.

When the criminal record extract is ready, you will receive a notification in Suomi.fi Messages if you have activated the service. Otherwise, a notification that the extract is ready will be sent by email.

You can also view the completed extract in the LRC e-service when

  • you have selected postal delivery as the delivery method, or
  • you submitted your application for the extract by email or by post.

The change supports the use of digital services

The change in the delivery method is part of the Digital First project, which aims to promote the use of digital government communications and electronic services.

More information about the Digital First project is available on the website of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
