Reviewing your information 

If you want to review your criminal records, you can easily request the information through the LRC’s electronic services. Using the electronic services requires you to authenticate yourself either with Finnish means of identification or with eIDAS authentication. 

If you cannot use the electronic services, you can use the form available on our website (Request to inspect personal data form, PDF). 

Carefully fill in the form and send it to us by one of the following methods: 

• Through the suomi.fi/messages service (Legal Register Centre > Registry Services). 
• By email to the address rikosrekisteri@om.fi. We recommend using the secure email service provided by the Ministry of Justice. In the service, enter your email address and register it. You will be sent a link to your email that you can use to send secure emails. You must still sign the review request by hand even if you send it by email.  
• By post to the address Legal Register Centre/Criminal records, PO BOX 157, 13101 Hämeenlinna, Finland. You must personally sign the review request you send to us by post.   

You cannot review your information by telephone. 

You can also draw up a freeform request to review your information and deliver it to the LRC. The freeform request must still include all the information required on the form linked above.  

If your review request also pertains to information saved in other registers of the LRC, use the form available on our website to make your request instead of the electronic services. The form should primarily be sent to us through the suomi.fi/messages service. If you cannot electronically authenticate your identity, you can send the form by post or email (see instructions above). Write the names of the registers whose information you want to review on the form. 

If you want to review information about you saved in other LRC registers, please primarily use the form available on our website (Request to inspect personal data form, PDF). You can also use the form to request your criminal records, if you cannot use the electronic services.
