Reviewing your information
Everyone has the right to review their information saved in the Legal Register Centre’s (LRC) registers. All information you receive with an information request is intended solely for personal use.
You have the right to request all information related to you saved in registers controlled by the LRC. The LRC will also inform you if no such information exists.
The response you receive to your request is not an official extract and it will not be verified with signatures or stamps. The document containing your information is intended solely for personal use. If you need an official extract from your criminal records for an employer or another purpose, you can order it quickly and easily through the LRC’s electronic services.
How can I request my information?
Delivery of the response
The LRC processes information requests within one month or three months at the latest from the date on which they arrive.
You will receive the response by post or in the suomi.fi/messages service, with the exception of criminal records that you have requested to be delivered only through the LRC’s electronic service.
Requesting to review your information is usually free. However, controllers can charge a fee for requests that are clearly unreasonable or unjustified because of their frequency or other reason.
