Decisions on the use of automation
Decisions on the use of automation made by the Legal Register Centre are available below.
When will automated decision-making be used to resolve a matter?
Your application may be resolved automatically if
- you are applying for an extension of the payment period of a fine, traffic penalty fee or victim surcharge;
- you are applying for an extension of the payment period via the e-services;
- you are a natural person;
- the delivery address you have provided is in Finland;
- the grounds for applying an extension of the payment period are illness, unemployment or poor financial situation;
- you are applying for an extension of the payment period of a penalty that is final or enforceable;
- you are applying for an extension of at most one year;
- the penalty will not become time-barred during the payment period you have proposed;
- you have complied with any previous payment decisions; and
- you have sent only one application regarding an extension of a payment period during one day.
If any of the above conditions is not met, your application will not be automatically resolved. In such a case, your application will be processed by an employee at the Legal Register Centre.
We cannot comment in advance on whether your application will be automatically decided, as this cannot be reliably determined until you have submitted your application. If your application is decided automatically, you will be informed of this in the decision sent to you.
The legal grounds for the use of the automated decision-making procedure are set out in the decision on the use of automation. If necessary, you may request additional information about the automated decision-making procedure by sending an email to kirjaamo.ork@om.fi.
