The image is divided into two sections. On the left side, a healthcare worker in a uniform stands next to a bed, handing a medication to an elderly person lying in the bed. The room features blue striped wallpaper, a shelf with books and a clock, and a framed picture on the wall. On the right side, the same healthcare worker is pushing an elderly person in a wheelchair outdoors under a tree. Both appear to be engaged in conversation or interaction.

From 1 January 2024, employers providing healthcare and social welfare services have the right to request an employee working with the elderly to present an extract from their criminal records. With regard to persons working with disabled, the employer’s right and obligation to check the extract from criminal records will enter into force on 1 January 2025 when the revised Disability Services Act enters into force.

An extract cannot be requested for employment relationships that have begun before the entry into force of the Act.
